Professor Se YAN, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Economics at Peking University's Guanghua School of Management and Deputy Director of the Peking University China Economic Policy Research Institute, will deliver a sample class on the topic of "Long-term Perspectives of Short-term Chinese Economy and Policies", helping you understand China’s economy and grasp future trends.
In addition, Professor Li MA, Associate Dean and Director of EMBA Programs of Guanghua, will share Guanghua-Kellogg EMBA Program's unique structure and its expansive global networks to participants. Dr. Se YAN is currently an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor in the Department of Applied Economics at Peking University's Guanghua School of Management, as well as the Deputy Director of the Peking University Institute of Economic Policy. Dr. YAN previously served as the Chief Economist of Founder Securities. From 2015 to 2017, he held the position of Senior Economist and Head of Macro Research at Standard Chartered Bank. Over the past seven years, Dr. Yan has effectively integrated academic research with practical policy analysis, providing extensive economic policy consulting and analytical services to high-level government officials. He has led and participated in research projects for various national ministries and commissions. His work has received endorsements from national leaders and commendations from relevant ministries and commissions.
Dr. YAN's research specialties are macroeconomics, Chinese economy and economic history. His research has been widely recognized by international academia. In 2009, he was awarded the Best Dissertation Prize at the 15th World Economic History Congress, becoming the first Chinese scholar to receive this prestigious honor. At Guanghua, Dr. YAN teaches macroeconomics and Chinese economy and has been won the Teaching Excellence Award at Peking University. YAN received his B.A. in international economics and M.A. in economic history at Peking University and completed his PhD in Economics at UCLA.
